The Anglican Bishop of Enugu Diocese, Rt. Rev. Emmanuel
Chukwuma and his counterpart of the
Mount Zion Faith Global Liberation Ministries , Bishop Abraham Udeh
have condemned the killings of innocent
Nigerians across the country by Fulani
herdsmen.
They urged Nigerians to get ready to defend themselves in
the circumstance, describing the situation as an imminent jihad.
Bishop Ude said, "The killing perpetrated by herdsmen
on rampage in Benue, Taraba and other states is an indication of a jihad
coming".
He noted that cattle herding
started decades ago in Nigeria "but never in the history of Fulani
herdsmen had any of them wielding weapons as AK47 rifle instead of perhaps bows
and sticks."
The bishop said it was an indication that something was
ominous about the new dimension.
He alleged that the Fulanis were on the mission of forcing Islamic religion on
the rest of Christian communities in Nigeria, using cattle herding as a
camouflage.
" It's their intension to wipe out Christians and make Nigeria an Islamic country."
He said President
Muhammadu Buhari had failed Nigerians for not being able to checkmate the
activities of these herders and should not be supported for a second tenure.
He added that
Bihar's continuation as President would mean more blood shed in the
country, stressing that, "The Fulani herdsmen felt protected under his
leadership.
" I give the National Assembly up to February this year
to begin the process of impeaching the President or face the wrath of God. I
pronounce that whoever supports Buhahri for a second tenure would be doomed.
"Those killers are not herdsmen. They are jihadists who
want to turn Nigeria into an Islamic nation. But the anger and fury of the
Almighty God will fall upon them. God told me that they were being sponsored by
an Islamic nation."
For the Anglican
bishop, Chukwuma, Nigerian should be prepared to defend themselves in the
melee.
He condemned killings in Benue, Taraba and other parts of
country, saying it was, "ungodly, evil and punishable by God.
"I advise
Nigerians to be vigilant and to be prepared to defend themselves."
