Christian Rowland Reporting live for ODOGWU MEDIA.....Biafra Nations Youth League, BNYL, has advised agitators not to ignore advice of war veterans, warning them not to repeat mistakes that led to failure of initial secession attempt.

BNYL Leader, Princewill Obuka explained that some errors on the part of Ojukwu-led government resulted to the defeat of Biafra in 1970.

“I don’t think Biafra agitators of today calculate and seek meaningful advice before making moves. A lot of ‘I don’t care attitude’ and drastic decisions have really made us noise makers than people with agenda”, he said in a statement on Sunday.

“We must tell ourselves the truth. History has it that it was the failure of Ojukwu led government to calculate and as well heed to advise that led to our initial surrender to Nigeria by Philip Effiong.

Obuka recalled how late Voice of Biafra Broadcaster, Okokon Ndem, in 1967 boasted that Biafra has the best weapon that no nation can destroy.

“Those who are currently handling the media for pro-Biafra groups are repeating the mistakes of Okokon Ndem.

They are boasting and bragging

“But at the end we suffer more casualty than the country we are struggling to separate from. I see today struggle as repetition of history.

Obuka further stated that the UN does not grant independence to a people disorganized, advising agitators to drop ego and seek way forward.

He also recalled the Biafra International Conference in Ghana organized by the Organization of Emerging African States, OEAS, which many groups were officially invited.

“It’s unfortunate that some key actors boycotted that conference as a result of pride and mentality of being superior. We can not boast of what we have not achieved.

“Biafra is a process, even after war or when on the peak of war, it remains a process. We cannot jump protocols.

“Many (pro-Biafra groups and individuals) have gone to UN thinking it will be giving to them on a platter of gold but they were ignored.

Obuka stressed that only a unified front with wide consultations of concerned ethnic groups will restore Biafra.
