Premier League champions Chelsea are keen to sign a top African striker and now
said to be monitoring Red Star Belgrade striker Richmond Boakye over the
possibility of bringing him to England. Since the departure of Spanish striker
Diego Costa who has joined Atletico Madrid, Chelsea are yet to sign a
replacement for the Spaniard.
The Blues are currently short of striking
personnel following the injury of Alvaro Morata who has been superb since
joining Chelsea from Real Madrid.
Antonio Conte has reportedly identified Ghanaian
forward Richmond Boakye as a good replacement for Diego Costa and wants the
club to sign him in January 2018. The 24-year-old hit-man has already scored 10
goals and grabbed three assists in his 16 matches so far this campaign.
Another positive news for Antonio Conte is that
he already knows Boakye well after signing him for Juventus back in 2012
