Resident Doctors' Strike : Chukwuemeka Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital On Full Scale Service - CMD
www.odogwublog.com reports that against the ongoing resident doctors strike across the nation, the Resident Doctors of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital, Amaku Awka, is said to be on duty working.
According to the Chief
Medical Director, Dr. Basil Nwankwo , all departments in the hospital are duly
working.
Dr. Nwankwo disclosed this while speaking to newsmen in his
office in Awka even as he revealed that the hospital is giving full scale
medical services to the residents of the state since residents doctors in the
country embarked on an indefinite strike a week ago.
Dr. Nwankwo who said that though the hospital has peculiar
problems, they are collectively solving the problems and thanked Governor
Willie Obiano for his numerous support and assistance to the hospital and made
it clear that the hospital is not on strike.
Also speaking, the Provost College of Medicine of the
University, Professor Walter Nwofia who eulogized Governor Obiano for the
construction of a gigantic oxygen plant in the hospital, called on the federal
government to holistically tackle the menace of some avoidable strikes in the
country.
Nigerians are therefore calling on the striking resident
doctors and the federal government to reach a common ground and end the strike
in order to save millions of Nigerians that are seeking medical services avoidable
deaths.
