MASSOB asks Army Chief to stop operation Python dance in South-East ----as CD reminds previous python dance led to death of 300 Igbo youths
www.odogwublog.com reports that Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign state of Biafra (MASSOB) yesterday raised alarm on the dangers Igbo youths would face if the current operation Python dance is allowed to stand and asked Nigerian president Mohammadu Buhari to call his Chief of army staff to order with immediate effect or face legal action for violation of human rights.
MASSOB in a statement by Comrade Edeson Samuel; National director of Information said its
Leader , Uchenna Madu has asked President Buhari to reappraise and understand
the meaning of Nigeria being a signatory as a member of United Nation and
African Nation on human and peoples right which is enshrined in human and
people right charter.
MASSOB maintained that we cannot be intimidated by Nigerian
security agents.
This is coming as the Campaign for Democracy (CD) reminded that
the previous operation by the Nigerian Army led to the death of about 300
youths despite being engaged according to rules of engagement.
A statement by the National publicity Secretary Campaign for
Democracy CD, Dede Uzor A Uzor stated: ‘’Do you recall that the said Rules of
Engagement led to the death of over 300 innocent Igbo citizens which was
confirmed by Amnesty international and Human rights watch with over 38 brutally
murdered at Nkpor near Onitsha in Idimmili local council area ?
‘’Now, the second phase are about to commence and which will
be targeted to defenceless Igbo youth over their agitation for Biafra
‘’It is now very certain that NA with their uniforms mounted
on the roads has NO professional intelligence to identify, unravel and arrest a
suspected criminals or kidnappers?
‘’Igbo protesting youths were simply the primary targets and
they really want to exterminate the entire igbo youths just because of their
agitation for Biafra which is peaceful as enshrined in International law.
CD statement ended thus: ‘’We call on the United Nations, UK
government, ICC, CANADIAN PRIME MINISTER and other world leaders to take note
of the genocidal intention of the federal government against the unarmed IPOB
and MASSOB and commence discreet investigation against Chief of Army Staff and
other top security agencies’’.
MASSOB statement continued thus: ‘’The operation python
dance or Egwu-eke in Biafran land is act of frustration from Nigerian
government. Chief of army staff Mr. Tuku Buratai has failed to capture the Boko-Haram leader Shakarow on the stipulated
date giving to him.
‘’ Is general Tuku Burutai
never dim it fit to lunch operation machiji or kunama meaning operation
snake bite or scorpion sting respectively against the Hausa/Fulani herdsmen who
went about killing people, raping women and young girls, setting peoples houses
ablaze.
‘’These APC lead government is a dictatorship
and human right violators. We cannot run away from our fathers land, no amount
of military and police deployment will deter us from pursuing our legitimate
right for self-determination and that is Biafra actualization.
‘’It is unfortunate
that Chief of army staff and his troop has failed to restore peace in North-east
where Boko-Haram has been in control for many years now. Nigerian security
agent has failed to arrest
‘’ Alhaji Yerima Shetima of Arewa youth and the sponsors for
the quit notice they issued to Ndigbo. Massob wish to remind president Buhari
that his predecessor former president
‘’Obasanjo used the same force against Massob when he was president
from 1999-2007. He sent troops against Massob members, many of our members were
killed, some detained while others had degrees of injuries. Instead of backing out, the
struggle became stronger.
MASSOB statement concluded: ‘’President Buhari can employ
Air force, Navy and Arab/Islamic nations as machineries against Biafrans but
that cannot stop us. Biafra has come to stay’’.
