COMMUNIQUE OF THE SOUTH-EASTERN ZONAL MEETING LABOUR PARTY STATE CHAIRMEN AND SECRETARIES

Introduction:

That a meeting of all the Labour Party State Chairmen and Secretaries in South-East was conveyed at Labour Party Secretariat Owerri Imo State today the 12th day of September 2017 by l:00pm. That a lot of issues were raided and deliberated upon most of which bordered on the overall growth and improvement of the Party in the Nigeria South-East region. The following resolutions were however reached viz:
1.    That the party hereby congratulates the National Party Chairman, Alhaji A.A Salami (Baraden Paiko) for his outstanding leadership fore sight and forthrightness in his qualities as the National Chairman of Labour Party of Nigeria and moreso his leadership role amongst the 25 political parties that have set Agenda for the restructuring of the Country.

2.    That the Body of State Chairmen and Secretaries of Labour Party in the South East Zone also commends and felicitate with our National Chairman for his "runner-up" position in the recently concluded IPAC Imo State Secretariat "Plot 177 MCC-Uratta Road, Opp. Imo Housing Corporation, Owerri - Imo State election and states further that the solidarity shown to him by other political parties in that election portrays his quintessential and egalitarian leadership qualities as a statesman.

3.    That the Labour Party of Nigeria South-East Body of State Chairmen and secretaries for the purpose of the growth and greatness of the party shall meet every 2 months to discuss issues affecting the growth of the party.

4.    That all State Acting Chairmen (and State Caretaker Committees) shall be encouraged to hold their state congresses at minimal costs without further delay.

5.    That since the growth of Political Parties is founded on active political enlightenment and participation at grassroot level, States shall be given utmost supports to grow our dear Party and position it for electoral victory without undue and overbearing influence from factors within and external,  including wanton removal of State Chairmen and acting State Chairmen from offices without due process.

6.    That the Body of Chairmen and Secretaries hereby thank the Zonal Leader of Labour Party in the South East, Chief Ikechukwu Joseph Ukagbu (Ikenga Imo) for his wonderful support to the party and the hosting of this meeting.
