IPOB denies burning of mosque in Enugu

www.odogwublog.com reports that members of the Nnamdi Kanu Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, have dissociated themselves from a recent burning of mosque in Igbo Eze North Local Government Area of Enugu state.
IPOB assured Muslims and other residents in Enugu of their safety while they sojourn within their borders.
Speaking through her media and publicity secretary, Comrade Emma Powerful, via a press release , IPOB said that it is resolved to maintain a non-violent approach in their struggle for self determination.
IPOB however accused the army and south east governor of orchestrating such attacks to stir bad blood between them and other ethnic nationalities.
This came as Godwin Chukwunaenye Ezeemo called on the federal and state government to follow due process in resolving the conflict involving the IPOB while condemning in strong terms the recent labeling of the IPOB group as terrorists.
The PPA gubernatorial candidate in Anambra State was not happy that the Southeast governors played down several accounts of loss of Igbo lives and properties within their states but were quick to label the IPOB terrorists when the group has never been recorded as having brandished weapons nor harmed anyone.
Ezeemo said: "The government should not forget that the mandate to rule came from the people and that the people ca impeach them if they fail in their duties to protect lives and properties in their state.
"The voice of the people should be heard because they form the nucleus of every democratic government."
While recalling some harassment he received in the past from the hands of the IPOB members, Ezeemo maintained that such scenarios do not justify the several dehumanization,  killing and negative labeling the group was receiving from the presidency and the state governors.
"When your child is growling and insistently defiant to orders, the onus lies on you, the parent, to dialogue with him and find out what the problem is and how to resolve it to satisfaction, not to criminalize the child," Ezeemo.
He said that there is genuine reason for the agitations among the youths all over the country and called on the presidency to be more intellectual in their approach and borrow a leaf from other countries like India, who have resolved similar issues, to listen to the youths and seek lasting solution.
