Anambra ; 2 cultist groups clash at Obosi, 2 sustain machete cut wound, SPACS arrest 4

www.odogwublog.com reports that two cultist groups, Junior Vikings Confraternity, JVC, and 2-2
fraternity,  yesterday at Obosi, Idemili North Local Government Area,
Anambra state, reportedly engaged hemselves in a bloody clash over
supremacy which resulted in two sustaining various degrees of machete
cut injury and arrest of four of them by the Special Anti Cultism
Squad, SPACS, of the State Police Command.

It was gathered that the arrested suspects, all teenagers who took
part in the last senior West African Examination Council WAEC,
examination, confessed being cultists and hinted that they were forced
into it in 2015 at a birth day party organised by a yet to be
identified lady.

The bloody clash was not unconnected with previous  attack  on a
member of JVC, by a 2-2 member which resulted in the injuring of the
JVC member.

In a bid to retaliate, the JVC members stormed the base of the 2-2
group and a free-for-all bloody fight ensued between the two groups.

On the process, a JVC member, Kelvin Umoru, had his head cut with a
machete and his finger cut also with a knife while one Chidera, now at
large, sustained a knife cut injury.

During the fight, machetes, knives and pieces of blocks and stones
were freely used which prompted passers-by to scamper for safety.

One of the suspects, Kelvin Umoru, ( JVC ) while pleading for
forgiveness  said he based in Portharcourt, Rivers state, but only
came home, (Obosi) to nurse his sick father before the fight started.

Others who also pleaded for leaniency were Chibuzor Okolo, Victor
Efion from Calabar and Anthony Chukwuemezie and all pledged to
renounce cultism if they regain their freedom.

Confirming the arrest when contacted, the SPACS Commander, Mr
Christopher Bassey, a Chief Suprintendent of Police, CSP, blamed
parents for not paying attentio to their children any longer and
attributed it to quest for money.

"They pay more attention to pursuing money than their family and this
gives the children the impression that nobody is after them and so
join bad companies.
