www.odogwublog.com reports that the South-East Governors’ Forum has inaugurated a management staff to fast track its development drive.
The
inauguration ceremony was conducted during the August meeting of the
governors of the geo-political zone which comprises five states of Abia,
Anambra, Enugu Ebonyi and Imo. The venue was Enugu Government House.
The
management team is led by Professor Simon Ortuanya a law professor who
hails from Enugu State and who holds the position of Director-General.
He will be assisted by a Deputy Director-General, and Imo-born Onwubu
Romson Udo.
There
are three Directors: Nweze Orlando is Director, Finance and
Administration and comes from Ebonyi State; Michael Ikechukwu Udah,
Director, Media and Communication is from Anambra State while Abia
State’s slot goes to Chibuike Amaechi who is Director of Projects.
A
press statement by the Director Media and Communicaton , Michael Ike
Udah states that the chairman of the South-East Governors’ Forum who is
also the Ebonyi State Governor, Engr. Nweze David Umahi congratulated
the new staff, praising them for scaling through the “hurdles” set by
the Department for Industrial Development (DFID), the UK-based agency
which handled the recruitment exercise.
Governor
Umahi charged the newly-sworn-in staff to hit the ground running,
adding that the forum was in a hurry to transform the South-East and by
extension Nigeria. He listed some of the projects which the forum
intended to tackle to include Power, Rail and Agriculture.
The Oaths of Office and Allegiance were administered on the new staff by a Notary Public, Barrister Agu Gab Agu.
