I was agitated when I saw and read that Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB),had a meeting with prominent Igbo leaders, traditional rulers, Igbo professors under the aegis of the Ala Igbo International Foundation and he backed down on his utopian stand point over Anambra election. He now agreed that Governorship election would hold in Anambra come November 18, this year. Ridiculous indeed!
Kanu has withdrawn his empty threat. Now election
would hold but IPOB has lost out the opportunity to make a statement, and
cannot determine who governs Anambra. If any IPOB member comes out on the
election day without voters card, then he or she is a thug and would be treated
as such. Rubbish!
Like him or hate him, Kanu is famous. If you like
popular, but he is ‘stupid and foolish’ despite his historical knowledge and
wisdom.
Kanu may have a beautiful narrative that kept the army
of youths swarming around him waiting for the least sign of an instruction and
before you say ‘Jack’, the order has been effected. Was it that, arrogance,
self-praise and worship took away the right sense of judgment about Anambra
2017 Governorship election from Kanu that he spoke out of context?
And like Robots, hundreds of youths swung into action
attacking people perceived to be holding rallies even if it is burial rites but
any sign of a political party was sighted.
By now, Kanu would have been holding the ace for
Anambra election had it been he ordered his members to register during the
window for validation of voters card. The army of youths would have used their
numerical strength to change the narratives in Anambra state and become so
powerful for 2019 that nobody could ignore Biafrans under IPOB and its stand on
any issue, but he squandered it with stupidity and unwarranted bravado.
Most people in Anambra state would not have the
audacity, these IPOB members have to vote and secure the voting process even
with all the guns on their head. IPOB could have been the unofficial police to
secure the votes against rigging from any quarters and without voters card what
would the IPOB members be doing near the poling units? I ask you Kanu?
I would have declared war against you, if I have the
resources and popularity or fame you have because you misled Ndigbo youths who
looked up to you for direction to the extent I nearly sack one of my boys for
daring me that election would not hold because ‘’OUR LEADER’’ Nnamdi Kanu has
spoken. Balderdash!
It was
nonsensical to think that the November 18 governorship election in Anambra
state will not hold if the federal government fails to conduct a referendum on
Biafra. The election would hold because it is constitutional and we aren’t in
Biafra yet. Voting strength would have changed the narrative and we take it
from there.
Yes, I approve all the rubbish against Anambra
election sent to me by my field marshals, even the ones I get direct from some
of your men, because it is my responsibility to represent all shades of
opinions in the society for the truth to stand out like the thump, but you
failed my expectations on the Anambra election saga.
Even the new threat to boycott the 2019 general election
is another gibberish because it is an empty threat. It is better you start now
to mobilize our youths to obtain the voters card and be unofficial police to
secure the votes across Nigeria as a serious sign of your strength for the
right candidates to emerge for these lofty ideas of yours to start working for
I know your stand is for equity, fairness and justice then , Biafrans can be
happy and push for Biafra in a advantaged position not now in disadvantaged
posture. Me thinks!
Whether you order a boycott in Anambra 2017 or that of
2019 should Federal Government refuses to yield to your request for a
referendum, your no vote order for the President, if God permits is meaningless
because, a Governor would still emerge, same to President and all other people
to be elected thereto. And you have no say than for them to be your leaders
even if you kept calling them animals in the Zoo. Nobody on this earth especially in Igbo land
is praying that Biafra won’t come but wisdom would serve us better because at the
last count over 150 IPOB youths have been murdered in cold blood by security
agents. They are our brothers and sisters.
I may not get to your level before I join my
ancestors, but if I have the Billions and this opportunity you have of hero
worship by the active members of the society, I would have done differently.
Although the Movement for the Actualization of
Sovereign state of Biafra (MASSOB) and some other lesser Biafran agitators said
elections must hold, their followership wasn’t like that of IPOB UK Limited
under Nnamdi Kanu. Even the IPOB Customary government and its political arm
Movement of Biafrans in Nigeria (MOBIN) did not have these followership you
enjoy but failed to utilize it for the good of Ndigbo.
Thank you Ala Igbo Development Foundation, led by
Professor Uzodimma Nwala, for making IPOB under you realize how folly it has
acted and could have done better as an organised group with agitations born out
of marginalization of the Igbo race in Nigeria.
