Breaking News on Anambra 2017 Governorship election: PDP removes Prof Jerry Ghana, drafts Nyesom Nwike for Anambra primaries
www.odogwublog.com reports that the Ahmed Makarfi-led National Caretaker Committee (NCC) this evening removed Pro Jerry Ghana as the Chairman of Anambra Governorship election Primaries.
Ghana was accused of being bought over by a candidate
to swing the results in the person’s favour.
Already, Governor Nyesom Nwike of Rivers State has
been drafted to chair the Primary election of the PDP Governorship primaries in
Anambra.
Though this Blog could not reach, Senator Ndi-Obi or
Alhaji Ahmed Markafi as well as Prince Dayo Adeyeye for comments, the former governor of Anambra State,
Peter Obi dismissed the compromised allegation against Prof Ghana , noting that
Ghana remained a first class man of integrity and has remained faithful to the
party since inception.
Obi said though he is not contesting anything but when
it comes to Anambra state it is a difficult issue and that may have informed
the choice of the party to look for a sitting Governor if such has happened.
An Aspirant , Dr Alex Obiogbolu said as a good party
man , whatever decision the party takes
is in the best interest of the party.
Other Aspirants like Oseloka Obaze , Dr Patrick Ifeanyi
Ubah, Senator Stella Oduah, Ho Linda Ikpeazu among others could not be reached
for their views.
Details later
Odogwublog recalls that the Anambra State chapter of
the Peoples Democratic Party [PDP] has taken strategic steps to sanitize the
party ahead of the upcoming governorship election, PDP’s spokesman, Prince Dayo
Adeyeye.
Adeyeye had said the party dissolved all existing
factional executive committees of the party in the state and all existing
caretaker committees in state are therefore sacked until further notice as the
party strategize for the upcoming election.
