 NNAMDI KANU this morning at Onitsha again11th August 2017 Insists Anambra election won’t hold Human and vehicular movements were temporarily grounded in Onitsha and Nkwele Ezunaka, Anambra State as  the leader of  the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu visited the areas yesterday.

In particular, the 3-3 road to Onitsha city was blocked as  supporters stormed the venue of the event.Kanu,  who arrived at about 1.30pm, walked round the field,  waving and cheering his supporters after which he stood at the centre of the field and prayed  God for speedy restoration of Biafra state.

He later addressed the crowd, saying he brought the message that governorship election will not hold on November 18, 2017 in Anambra State as scheduled, calling on every Biafran to boycott it.

The IPOB leader later proceeded to Nkwele Ezunaka with his entourage, where other supporters were waiting and prayed for prompt freedom for the people of Biafra whom he said have been enslaved for years in Nigeria.

Speaking to CHRISTIAN ROWLAND from ODOGWU MEDIA..dismissed the insinuation that the boycott of November 18 election may attract state of emergency and possible appointment of military administrator, saying there would be no vacuum that may warrant such.

He stated that there is constitutional provision that on the expiration of the tenure of the governor, the speaker of the House of Assembly will take over, until after referendum when election would be conducted for the state.

On the restructuring of Nigeria, he said it won’t work because according to him, such arrangement has never worked before now, like the ‘Aburi Accord’. 

“I am not condemning restructuring of the country, but, it is not workable, it has not worked before; Aburi never worked, Decree R after the civil war never worked. So, why should this one work, that is way I’m against it. I want total freedom for Biafra,” Kanu said.

He stressed that there would be no election across Biafran region until referendum is conducted for  its exit.

“We brought the gospel of the restoration of the kingdom of Heaven, which is Biafra and the emancipation and redemption of our people, which comes by the boycott of November 18 governorship election. 

“The boycott will not attract any vacuum or state of emergency because the constitution provides for replacement of the governor in case of death, vacation or whatever circumstance that may have led to not producing the governor or deputy. 

“In other words, the constitution provides that the speaker of the House of Assembly will take over government on the interim basis and that is going to happen in Anambra State.

“The people of Anambra must boycott the governorship election and further elections, for Biafra to come, until we get the date for a referendum. “
