As the Anambra State gubernatorial
election set to take the centre stage of our political consciousness this November,
one party where a gladiator is set to emerge to unseat incumbent Governor
Willie Obiano, is the All Progressives Congress (APC). Already the Peoples
Democratic Party (PDP) is considered a dead party in the state as this year gubernatorial
election is concerned.
This weekend, if all things work according
to plan the APC will screen 12 aspirants who will test their popularity to
determine who flies the party’s flag in the coming governorship poll slated for
November 18.
The 12 aspirants cleared are: Andy
Uba, George Moghalu, Paul Chukwuma, Nonso Madu, Bart Nwaibe, Obinna Uzoh, Patrick
Nwike,Tony Nwoye, Adaobbi Uchegb, Chike Obidigbo, D. Okonwko and Johnbosco Onunkwo.
Jostling to fly the party flag among other aspirants, Andy Uba is considered the most viable, but information reaching
Odogwublog.com confirms that that party could regard Moghalu or Uzor to clinch
the party ticket. An inside source, except for last minute change, said the
party will be settling for Moghalu, who they considered a ‘real APC Man.’ Moghalu
is a former national secretary of the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP). He is
also the National Auditor of his party the APC.
The plot against Uba, Odogwublog.com, gathered is coming from the party hierarchy who wants to get rid of Uba, because
of his relationship with former President Olusegun Obasanjo. In the event that Uba is schemed out of the primary, Odogwublog.com, learnt that he may declare his
support for Governor Obiano rather than return to PDP.
