NIPR Anambra: Ifeanyi Ubah, Senator Ekwunife bag Reputation Award (Photos)

 www.odogwublog.com reports that the Chairman of Capital Oil & Gas Industries Ltd, Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah; Immediate past Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial Zone, Senator Uche Ekwunife, Prof. Charles Esimone, Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academic of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, UNIZIK and the Catholic Bishop of Nnewi Diocese, His Lordship, Most Rev. Dr. Hilary Odili Okeke among others were among those who bagged Reputation Award from the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Anambra State Chapter during a Reputation Summit held at the Parktonian Hotel, Awka, Anambra State on Thursday.

    Some other outstanding Nigerians, who were also honoured at the ceremony include: Prof. Kate Omenugha, Hon. Commissioner for Education, Anambra State;; Dr. Anthony Obiora Chukwuka, Chairman of Greenlife Pharmaceuticals Ltd; Mr. Okafor Chigozie, Chairman of Dynatec Systems Ltd; Chief Festus Kamdikora; Chuks Ochonogor, founder of NOVENA University, Ogume, Delta State; Chief Sir Chikodi Anara, Special Adviser to Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State on Security Matters; Chief Frank Sunny Okonkwo and  High Chief Onyeka Obi; among others.
  
The National Chairman/ President of NIPR, Dr. Rotimi Oladele,  in his remark  during the ceremony, noted that the award recipients, as heads of their various organizations and corporate entities, distinguished themselves and their organizations in many ramifications; adding that there is no other way to encourage integrity, trustworthiness and hard work than what the group did.
    Congratulating the awardees for measuring up to reputable standards, Oladele encouraged community, political and religious leaders, as well as captains of industries to emulate the virtues that made the selected individuals to garner the awards.
    “The Reputation Award is organized by our organization as a way of rewarding integrity, honesty and hard work; and also a way of encouraging people to imbibe the spirit in their everyday lives”, he added.
He singled out Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah, Bishop Hilary Paul Odili Okeke and Senator Uche Ekwunife for special commendation; noting that the ingenuity, resourcefulness, sincerity and integrity which the trio brought to bear in Oil and Gas business, episcopacy and politics, respectively were noteworthy.

 Addressing newsmen after receiving her own award, Senator Uche Ekwunife, former senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, hailed the initiative of the organizers, describing it as timely. She said that NIPR was thoughtful in selecting the awardees who she said, were men and women of impeccable integrity and hard work; adding that the awardees were pace setters in their various areas of endevours. She also said that the Reputation Award would boost her political image.

In her remarks, Prof Chinyere Okunna insisted that Nigeria must get it right first with the power sector for other things to fall into shape, even as she lauded the Chairman on the occasion and Vice Chancellor of the Unizik , Prof Joseph Ahaneku for empowering students through compulsory Entrepreneurship skills on the students to enable them fight unemployment.
Speaking on behalf of the award recipients, Bishop Hilary Okeke, represented by the Director of Outreach Programme in the Diocese, Rev. Fr. Jude Chukwume, commended the organizers of the event for their thoughtful package, and said that the award would encourage the recipients to do better.


    The summit tagged “Doing Business in Nigeria in an Era of Recession: Problems and Prospects”, which was attended by government functionaries, politicians and captains of industries also featured the swearing-in of the 10th Executive Council of NIPR, Anambra State Chapter, with Lady Chinwe Nnedum as State chairman.
