ARMED ROBBERS KILL BANK CUSTOMER IN IMO AGAIN

www.odogwublog.com reports that barely few weeks after armed robbers besieged a new generation bank in Owerri, the Imo state capital and killed a bank customer and wounding several others including police men, another set of robbers this afternoon shot and killed another bank customer along Whetheral road few metres away from the headquarters of the police in the state.

According to an eye witness, the robbers numbering two were said to have trailed their unsuspecting victims who were couples after they had withdrawn money from the bank.

The witness further narrated that the two robbers who caught up with their victim before the Okigwe roundabout directly opposite the Government House had shot sporadically into the air to scare away the people and ordered their victim to hand over the money, and when he resisted they shot him three times snatched the money away zoomed off through the Okigwe road.

 One of the eyewitnesses, " I was at the News papers stand across the road which just before the Okigwe roundabout around 11 am , when I heard a gun shot and then two young men who were in a Camry car who  blocked a Man and his wife in another car came out.

Adding, he said " they asked the Man where is the Money and at that moment woman ran out of the car, but Man had refused to hand over the money to them and one of the robbers shot him three times and still took the money from him. But I don't know if he was dead but seriously wounded"

The source further said that immediately the robbers started shooting into the air that all the police men including the NSCDC who were at the roundabout just opposite Government House  ran away and that it was after the robbers had long gone that they came back.

 Another source who collaborated the  ugly incident said that the incident said he was four cars behind the robbers and that as soon as the cornered the Man who was inside a car with a woman started shooting into the air.

The witness added" I was four cars behind the robbers and it was when I had gun shots that it dawned on me that those in that Camry were robbers because they had overtook me and I was wondering where they hurrying to not knowing that they were actually after somebody. Even when they had succeeded in their evil act they kept shooting into the air which sent people running in different directions including the Policemen at the Okigwe roundabout junction ".

 The state Police Public Relations Officer  Andrew Ewerem who confirmed the incident  said  that the victim was confirmed dead at the Federal Medical Centre Owerri.
