I could have won popular vote if i needed to-Donald Trump

The United states president elect, Donald rump has made it clear that he could have won the popular vote against his challenger Hilary Clinton if he had campaigned differently.

With one state left to count, Mrs Clinton has nearly a million more votes than Trump, but she still lost out due to the electoral college system. Despite been favoured by the electoral college system, the triumphant Trump complained about the system, saying it was unfair and that he preferred a simple vote system.

He maintained that he could have still won a straight vote because he would have focused more on the big states won by Mrs Clinton.

"I would have campaigned in New York, Florida and California and won even bigger and more easily" the president-elect said on his tweeter handle.He lost New York and California. In a recent interview with the 60 minutes programme, Mr. Trump complained about the electoral college system, in which each state is worth a different number of votes, saying that he preferred the popular vote method.

Trump maintained that he has respect for the electoral college system, but would rather see it where you went with simple votes.
