Club World Cup Finals: Real Madrid poise to set another world record

Real Madrid football club of Spain are currently having one of the best runs in club football history. The capital club are the only club yet to taste defeat across all competitions as far as this season, they are the only club with such honour as far as this season is concerned. The European Champions are on a 36 matches unbeaten run, and they have already qualified for the finals of the club world cup currently holding in Yokohama Japan. Goals from French man Karim Benzema, and four time Ballon D'or winner Cristiano Ronaldo were all they needed to see off spirited Club America in the semi final match played on Friday afternoon.

As the Spanish heavyweights file out on Sunday against Kashima Antlers in the finals of the annual competition, so much is at stake, the Galacticos are i  with a great opportunity to add yet another record to their already enviable list. With a win against their opponents in the Sunday's final showpiece, the club will enter the book of record as the first club to win the trophy on five occasions. Only the Brazilian senior national team who won the world cup on five different occasions has achieved such feat as country, Real Madrid will be the only team to achieve that in the history of club football.

Real Madrid will be relying on their Portuguese talisman, Cristiano Ronaldo to provide the firepower needed to clinch the trophy as he is back to scoring ways after he notched a dying minute goal against Club America in the semi final. The dangerous hit man is still basking in the euphoria of his last week's success as the Ballon D'or winner and he will be keen to end the already fantastic year on a spectacular note. The Portuguese has already scored 10 goals in the league this season after starting the season rather poorly.
