After conceding defeat, Gambian President Jammeh calls for fresh poll

Gambian President, Mr. Jammeh who has ruled the country for 22 years, has rejected the outcome of the election where he lost to the opposition and called for a fresh election in a televised address to the country.

This is Coming after a week that he conceded defeat to the opposition leader which was celebrated across globe.

He said, " After a thorough investigation, I have decided to reject the outcome of the recent election. I lament serious and unacceptable abnormalities which have reportedly transpired during the electoral process”.

“I recommend fresh and transparent elections which will be officiated by a god-fearing and independent electoral commission,”
