Police blame cultism on judiciary

Area 'K' Police command, Lagos, has blamed the judiciary for increasing rate of cultism in the state, saying when suspected cultists were arrested and charged, the court quickly grants them bail. Speaking at the inauguration of Eminent Peoples Forum EPF in Lagos, the area commander ACP Godwin Eze, advised parents to play their roles by finding out the types of people their children were associating with.

He said: :We arrested about five cultists last week and took them to court in Badagry, and the court did not sit. DPOs in Lagos are complaining that when they take cultists to court, before you turn around, they are on bail"

In his speech, Chairman of the EPF, Alhaji Waheed Yusuf, urged members to work with the police to curb criminal activities in the area.
