www.odogwublog.com reports that a 115 year old man, Godwin Nwosu, on Friday led scores of people in Oko, Aguluezechukwu and Ogboji communities to beg the Anambra State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano to fix their road.
Nwosu said the road had been in existence since 100 years ago but in a deplorable condition.
"This road is important to my people. The governor should help to do the road for my people. This is my last wish. Please you people should help us beg the governor to help my people", the centenarian stated.
Speaking, the leaders of the three communities Messrs Bennard Chukwuka ,Levi Okonkwo and Geoffrey Ezeado implored the governor to do the road for them.
The said they were agrarian communities but that the bad road in the area had made it difficult for them to evacuate their products outside the place.
"We cultivate rice, watermelon, cassava, yam and so on in large quantities but these products often perish because we can't take them outside here for sale.
"We implore our hard working governor to come and help us to fix this road. This is our priority.

They said the three communities had affinity "but the bad state of the road had cut us off and somewhat severed our relationship".

They said successive administrations had come and promised them to fix the road but all to no avail.
"They used this road for political campaigns but nothing useful had come from them".
Some of their placards read "Our governor is doing well," He has given hopes to the hopeless, "We have hope that our governor will come to our rescue".
Addressing the press at his palace, the traditional ruler of Ogboji community, Igwe Fetus Iyioku, thanked the governor for all he had been doing for the people of the state, especially prompt payment of workers' salaries.
He praised the governor for his efforts in rural electrification, adding that the governor's reelection was assured.
