Imo lawmakers at logger-head over N3,000 development levy

Lawmakers of the Imo state House of Assembly, yesterday, disagreed among themselves over the introduction of N3,000development levy by the government. What looked like a chaotic situation at the plenary started when the member representing Aboh Mbaise State constituency, Hon. Mike Iheanetu conveyed the message of his constituents that the policy was unacceptable to them.

They expressed worry over the N3,000 development levy . Mr. Speaker, they said it is difficult for them to pay in this time of recession and it is painful. They also said there is hunger and they are battling to survive the difficult period in the country.
