www.odogwublog.com reports that an Umuahia, Abia
State- based cleric and President of Power Word Ministries, Rev. Uche Ume, has
disagreed with the recent prophesy by a Lagos- based prophet,
Elijah Ayodele that five incumbent Deputy Governors in the country would betray
their principals.
The spiritual head of the INRI Evangelistic Spiritual
Church, revealed that the Deputy Governors of Abia, Ebonyi, Kano, Sokoto and
Taraba states would have issues with their principals before the
end of their terms in office.
Rev. Ume in a chat
with newsmen in Umuahia, dismissed the prediction as false, declaring that any
prophesy which creates fear, tension and acrimony is never of God.
" A prophecy must be
edifying and comforting. A prophecy that has come to create chaos is
questionable", he insisted.
His words: "That
so-called prophecy has it edified the Governors or their Deputies? I
refuse to accept that God will send a word to bring confusion in five
Government Houses across the nation. I don’t even know some of
these Governors personally and so it’s not about me.
"But I am interested
in helping people know the wrong from the right. I'm not saying the prophet is
a false prophet, but you see this prophecy about the deputy governors?
This is totally false!
"How can God by
Himself through a prophet set five states of the federation on fire
as these Governors if care is not taken may begin to suspect and fight their
deputies? And you know what that means for the polity.
"Any
prophesy that brings a sword and divides a brother from another is
not of God. The bible asks us not to despise prophesy but also we are
admonished to test every spirit.
"The bible says we
prophesy in parts but it’s only in Nigeria that we prophesy in
full. People should be careful what they say especially when they occupy
certain positions. When Jesus enters any place he brings peace. And so
should prophecies from God. I refuse to accept that God will bring
confusion in five states. What exactly is the target of that
prophecy?"
The International
evangelist challenged self- acclaimed prophets masquerading as God's oracles in
Nigeria to seek divine solution to the country's economic woes instead of
prophesying lies for cheap popularity.
"We are in a time
of recession; God should be revealing solutions to us
through His prophets. Don’t they see where solutions are?
"There are security
challenges in Nigeria, can’t these prophets give us prophecies of
solution? Men of God should be careful what they say; there
are wars, conflicts and disputes that have broken
out in different places, communities and even families as a result of
unguarded utterances and pronouncements some of which sometimes are
absolute falsehood.
"If you were any of
those Governors and you heard this kind of prophecy, how would you be looking
at your deputy? And by the way, assuming God reveals a problem to
someone, there are ways to handle it better rather than
making headlines on the pages of newspapers and online media. By
the way, it is only in Nigeria that prophets do not make
mistakes."
On how to determine a true prophesy, Rev. Ume
said: "The word of God serves as an acid test
for every true prophecy. God cannot speak against what He has written. For
For example: If someone comes to you and tells you that God asked you to
give him your wife or that you should kill yourself. You know
his prophecy contradicts the word of God. Discard it no matter who is saying
it. "
The cleric , therefore, advised the Governors of the
affected states not to allow the controversial prophesy generate bad blood
between them and their deputies.
"I say to them: Don’t
judge people by what others or another said, instead judge them by
who they are to you and what you know about them. Also study the
bible because everything pertaining to life, leadership etc is in
it.
"Don’t let anyone
deceive you. Any prophecy given to you that is not in line with the word
of God, throw it away. I will be shocked if someone allows what any
so-called prophet is saying to him in the name of prophecy to make him throw
away his loyal deputy.
"People should be
properly guided and not let the enemy sow any evil seed of discord into
their domains."
