BANK MANAGER, CASHIER HELD FOR ALLEGED ROBBERY

Police have arrested an operation manager of Diamond Bank in Warri Delta State, Mr. Okiti Tarhe, and a cashier for allegedly refusing to accept cash deposit from a customer. Tarhe whose action reportedly led to the robbery attack on the customer, Mr. Kess Ajobor, was arrested by the policemen at Ugbor-ikoko in Effurun in Uvwie  Local Government Area.

Ajobor was robbed at gunpoint while returning home with the sum of 750,000 naira which the manager and the cashier rejected on the ground that it was "cash dump in" When contacted on the phone the state Police public relation officer[PPRO], Celestine Kalu, confirmed the arrest of the two bank officials in connection with the robbery incident and refusal to accept the Nigerian l
egal tender. Kalu further stated that the case has been transferred to the state criminal investigation department [SCID] in Asaba. She vowed that the police would get to the root of the matter.
