Manchester United Portuguese manager, Jose Mourinho his big name summer arrivals that they must earn their stripes like everyone else at Old Trafford this season. Mourinho made it clear that none of his united stars are untouchable, including world record signing Paul Pogba and the big swede.
The Porguguese famously described the nucleus of his team during his first stint at Chelsea as "untouchable",with the likes of John Terry, Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba starring in the squad.
United forked out a record fee to lure the French player from Juventus in the close season. while Ibrahimovic arrived as one of the most feared strikers in the world football, despite being 34 when he signed.
However, Pogba has struggled for form since his fun-fare return to Old Trafford, Ibrahimovic on his own has failed to find the back of the net in his last four Premier league matches, after he began the season in a blistering form, netting four league goals in as many matches. And Mourinho says no one is guaranteed a place in his line up. "No[Pogba and Ibrahimovic are not untouchable]," he said ahead of Thursday's Europa League tie against Fernerbahce.
That was 11 years ago[that Mourinho described some of his Chelsea players as untouchable], different Premier League, different situation."[Chelsea were] the best team by far, that's a different story. "Nobody is untouchable now. Untouchable in our team i think has to be the spirit, the commitment, the pride, the respect to the club and her fans. That has to be untouchable, not the players themselves. Zlatan Ibrahimovic has just one goal in his last seven matches for United, that coming in the scrappy 1-0 narrow victory against Zorya in the Europa League. But Mourinho who also worked with the Swedish striker at Inter Milan, says he "could not be happier with the impact the Swedish great has made on the squad. "I'm really happy. He's giving us exactly what we need from him," he added.
