Dr Adaora Nnubia , 21 others from COOUTH Anambra sworn in as medical doctors

 www.odogwublog.com reports exclusively that it was jubilation at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu Teaching Hospital (COOUTH) Awka, Anambra state when it inducted its second set of medical doctors.

The Induction of the second set of medical doctors of COOUTH by the medical and dental council of Nigeria took place on the 14th of October 2016 at the college of medicine auditorium Amaku, Awka.

Former Governor Peter Obi brought the University down from Uli TO Igbariam in the heart of Anambra state and built it from scratch before locating the Teaching Hospital at Amaku and built the structures there. He saved the first set who stayed 13 years from being frustrated.

The Chairman of the ceremony was the vice chancellor of the University Prof Fidelis Okafor


The Vc in his address, advised the young doctors to be good ambassadors of the university wherever they found themselves and also advised them to be present during the forthcoming convocation to collect their certificates.

The occasion was graced by high dignitaries including the Registrar of the Medical and dental council of Nigeria Represented by Dr Obiegwu Retired permanent secretary of Anambra ministry of Health, Former minister of Health Dr Tim Menakaya, Dr Chief Dozie Ikedife, pioneer Chairman COOUTH management board and former leader ohaneze ndi Igbo.


The provost of the college Prof Frank Akpuka who actually groomed the young doctors, Prof Amobi Ilika former commissioner of Health, The dean clinical medicine Prof P.U Nze and the public relations officer of the university Mr E.C Nnubia among others.

The Ceremony had it's guest lecturer as Dr Uche Achebe former medical director National orthopedic hospital Enugu.

A total number of 22 doctors took their oath including their oath including Dr Adaora Nnubia daughter of the university public relations officer of the university. So many laurels and prices were won by Dr Stellamaris Chinwuba.





 Speaking to newsmen Dr Adaora Nnubia, daughter of Nnubia E.C ,the COOU University Public Relations Officer and Dr Stellamaris Chinwuba praised God for making their graduation possible thanking their parents and colleagues as well as their tutors for the memorable impact.
The Vice Chancellor, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, professor Fidelis Okafor as well commended the State government for recording another milestone in its health sector through the erection of a building for an oxygen gas plant at the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital in Awka.
The Vice Chancellor commended initiative stressing that by the gesture, the state has once again demonstrated its uniqueness as the light of the nation.
He applauded the Governor for his focused leadership which has placed the state on the map of leading states in the federation and expressed hope that the gas plant will be completed in record time to improve the health sector.
On the flag off of the one million tree planting campaign of the governor performed in Awka as part of the twenty five years anniversary of the state, Professor Okafor lent his voice to the efficacy of tree planting which according to him adds value to ecosystem.
He said the University will be part of the tree planting exercise in all its campuses.
