Couple begs for N4.7M assistance to treat child with bladder defect

www.odogwublog.com reports that the family of Mr and Mrs Joseph Chijoke Emmanuel from  Umuakuma Nkerefi community in  Enugu East Local Government Area of Enugu State, has appealed to spirited members of the public to assist them in raising a total of four million and seven hundred thousand[N4.7M] required for medical treatment of their son,Master  Divine Chizuroke Emmanuel,who  was born with a bladder defect in India.

Their son Divine, was born about three years ago  with an opening in the bladder,a defect which did not allow his  penis to form properly.  Consequent upon which he passes urine another opening under his abdomen.

According to the father, Mr Chijioke Emmanuel,  they discovered the malformation two weeks after his birth, they have undergone series of surgery to determine if the ailment can be corrected but didn't succeed. He said  that  Doctors at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka Teaching Hospital, UNTH recommended their child must undergo  four different types of surgeries, namely  functional bladder closure; bladder neck repair; epispadia repair and reflux  before he can be able to pass urine through his penis.

He said they were intimated by another doctor that they have an option of treating the child at 'Apolo hospital; India, if they can be able to raise the amount of N4.7M naira. Therefore he is making a passionate appeal to spirited members of the public to come to his help because has already exhausted all his life's savings.

Mr Joseph Chijoke Emmanuel,disclosed he studied  Materials and Metallurgical Engineering, ESUT, Enugu and graduated in 2011. While his wife, Grace Sharon Emmanuel, a phonetics teacher at God's Care Nursery and Primary School, Achara Layout, Enugu, have reached out to several corporate organizations, churches who promised to help but have not yet come up any help at the moment.  "I have met with several organizations and individuals who promised to help but are yet to do anything," the father of two, Joseph, laments.

Initially, he went into  piggery business since he could not procure white collar job after graduation but could not carry on with the piggery business any longer because he has exhausted his earnings. At a time, he joined the Coal City Taxi cab, but his vehicle broke down and he could repair it for now.
