BIAFRA.....Agitators should abide to Constitutional, Diplomatic processes, says Foreign Affairs Minister

www.odogwublog.com reports that the Minister of  foreign Affairs, Mr. Geoffrey Onyeama, has advised all pressure /separatists groups  agitating for an independent state of Biafra" to abide to all constitutional  and Diplomatic laid down rules for such demand, instead of disorder and   breakdown of the rule of law,as a means of  justifying their emotions.

Mr Onyeama gave the advice in Enugu over the weekend in a chat with newsmen after attending a joint meeting of the Enugu state chapter of the All Progressives Congress,APC.with national caucus members of the party from the state.

The Foreign affairs minister expressed disbelief that the Biafra agitators have the mandate of the Igbo nation, unlike what is happening at United Kingdom, where the Scottish separatists group have the mandate of their representatives at the parliament. He therefore  urged all the groups agitating for a separate state of Biafra, to critically consider if they are pursuing the project in accordance with rule of law.

' I strongly believe the agitators  are not speaking for Ndigbo, as they do not have the mandate of the Igbo race to do so. My advice is for them to embrace dialogue rather than violence at all times'.

Mr Onyeama advised the people of the South East zone and other tribes of the country, to keep supporting the APC led federal government under  President Muhammadu Buhari, in it's commitment to stir the country out of the present socio economic and political doldrums, occasioned by endemic corruption from the previous administration in the country.

He disclosed that  President Buhari led  administration has put necessary mechanism in place aimed at addressing the present economic recession confronting the country.

In his remarks, convener of the meeting and Enugu state chairman of the ruling party, Dr. Ben Nwoye, had assured the national leadership of the APC that the state chapter is highly committed in wrestling power from the peoples Democratic party PDP, come 2019.

He said existing ,political structures are currently been oiled and strengthened at all levels in the state, calling on true democrats and progressives to embrace the party so as to enthrone a better Enugu state in the next political dispensation.

Dr. Nwoye, also appealed to Nigerians to exercise some  patience with the president Buhari, led federal government, as it makes frantic efforts towards stabilising the current dwindling Nigerian economy occasioned by some anti human and economic policies of the past PDP led administration.

Present at the meeting were, the Special Adviser to president Buhari on judiciary Reforms, Barr. (Mrs) Juliet Ibekaku, Ambassador Designate from the state, Major General Chris Eze, (Rtd), Members of the state working committee, amongst others.
