www.odogwublog.com reports that armed men on Monday invaded Amato Orogwe in the Owerri West Local Government Area of Imo state and abducted a businessman, Amaechi Ahanonu to a yet to be identified location.
The gunmen had arrived his premises in the wee hours of the night, shooting sporadically in the way, and kept the community in fear while they whisked away the businessman.
The gunmen had kept the family of their victim in worry and fear while the shooting lasted.
Meanwhile, the kidnappers have made contacts with the family of the business man and are demanding N10million ransom for his release.
Police spokesperson for Imo State, DSP Andrew Enwerem said he was yet to be briefed on the development and would rather not comment on an issue he knew nothing about.
