APGA crisis: Oye begs NWC, says ‘’I was attacked in error’’, calls 6 NWC members rebels

www.odogwublog.com reports that the embattled National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, Chief Victor Oye, has regained his seat after Governor Willie Obiano and Chief Sir Victor Umeh intervened.
He apologized to the National Working Committee (NWC)  even as he said that the recent crisis rocking his party has been resolved amicably.
The National Chairman who was suspended by the party's National Working Committee (NWC)last week for alleged gross misconduct and other enumerated issues in an interview with journalists at Amawbia country home, late Wednesday evening, described the crisis in the party as a product of greed, ignorance and overbearing attitude of some members who had been imagining things erroneously.

 According to him: "The rebels didn't know the workings of the APGA Constitution. Even if you get the majority of the signatories of members of NWC of APGA, you can’t remove the national chairman.

"For you to remove me as the national Chairman of APGA, you need to call full national convention of APGA, to succeed. It's not an easy task, but because of ignorance and greed six members of the party thought they could do it and went on a mission impossible.

"But everything has been resolved. We thank his Excellency, the Executive Governor of Anambra State for his intervention.

“ One of the six rebels just called me to apologize for his role in the exercise and pledged for his unalloyed support for my administration.
On the allegation that the state governor had to spend N200million to  save him(Oye) from being removed , the APGA boss described the story as laughable.

"Who will give them such money, for what purpose? We gave them spaghetti, egwuisi soup, semo, and of course in such meetings, you are entitled to a stipend for transport, a total of all was less than a million.

"Those were what they were given. Who will give them N200 million, for what? This is laughable”, Oye stated.

Some NWC members who pleaded anonymity told journalists that Oye lied about what transpired in the meeting, saying, "We all attended the governor’s meeting on Tuesday evening because of our respect for the governor as the leader and BOT chairman of the party.

“We rejected their food, hotel accommodation and money. We told the governor point blank that Victor Oye can no longer lead us. His suspension subsists. So what he told you people was a lie. What are we doing with their food? Oye must leave APGA”. If the governor insists that the National chairman of APGA must come from Anambra state, he should look for  credible person from the state, but for Oye, the  game is over for him,   the source stated .

The Senior Special Assistant to governor Obiano on Media, Mr James Eze, acknowledged that the governor held a meeting with some APGA stakeholders over the crisis in the party.
 He denied that N200million was shared to save the situation.
He said: "how do you think that the governor as an accountant and acclaimed  auditor  can spend such money in the circumstance in a period of recession".

He described the story as inconceivable.
