Atunyota Alleluya Akporobomerere, aka Ali
Baba, is a Nigerian stand-up comedian. He
has been a professional stand up comedian
for the past 22 years and has received
several awards. He is currently a part of the
Nollywood film, The Wedding Party.
The comedian took to Twitter to address the
state of the nation. This is most likely due to
the fact that different comedians such as
Basket Mouth have been commenting on the
current Nigerian economy.
He started trending with the hashtag ‘Things
holding Nigeria Back’ and he proceeded to
type a series of tweets revealing what he
thinks is holding Nigeria back.
The comedian’s list included: A national
assembly that is a retirement home for
politicians, bribery and corruption, selfish
traditional rulers, religion, tribalism, greedy
leaders, and our police force.
The 51-year-old stand up comedian is one of
the veterans in his trade and is admired and
seen as a role model to upcoming
talents. Not one to shy away from saying
what is on his mind, the veteran comedian
constantly voices out his opinion on societal,
