Happening now: Bayelsa first Lady, Rachael Dickson delivered of quadruplets

The season of celebrations continues in the family of Governor Henry Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State as his wife, the First Lady, Dr. Rachael Dickson just put to bed in the United States of America.
The information was made known to newsmen by Chief Press Secretary to Bayelsa State Governor, Daniel Iworiso-Markson.
She was delivered of quadruplets; a bouncing baby boy and three beautiful baby girls. Mother and children are doing well.
This is particularly good news for the family and Bayelsans because this bundle of joy is coming after many year of praying and waiting upon the Lord.
Governor Dickson thanks friends, family members and Bayelsans for their prayers and support and enjoins them to continue to pray for the family.
In another development involving Governor Dickson, a socio-political organization, Bayelsa Elders Forum, has commended him, over his victory at the Court of Appeal.
The BEF in a statement by its President, Chief Ebi Johnson, hailed the Court of Appeal for safeguarding democracy in the state, but however, berated the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Timipre Sylva.
The forum expressed confidence in the governor’s leadership and dedication to duty.
It said the love of the people for him ensured his re-election and urged him to use his second term to further entrench his legacy.
“We feel concerned to note that the judiciary has once again demonstrated its commitment to basic democratic tenets through the judgement of the Appeal Court", Johnson stressed.
The elders applauded the Appeal Court’s decision for not only dismissing all the five issues raised by Silva and the APC but also lambasting Sylva for “a probating and reprobating” at the same time.
The elders further berated Sylva and the APC for what they regarded as their “desperation and unbridled quest for power”.
The stance is described in the statement as being major threat to human lives and breakdown of law and order in the state.
The elders also called on the Buhari-led Federal Government to check the excesses of some politicians whom they accused of hiding under the umbrella of the party at the centre to perpetrate acts of criminality.
“For the survival of democracy, peace and unity in the nation, it is important that no one, no matter his or her position or relationship with the federal government, should act or behave contrary to stipulated rules or acting as being above the law”, the BEF stressed.
