The coordinator of the group, Comrade Ositadinma Obi told Authority that the former governor actually killed politics in the state when he foisted the incumbent governor, Chief Willie Obi using the resources of the state to buy his way through.
He noted that prior to the last governorship election in the state, many people who could have turned the fortune of the state around for good signified their interest in the plum job but that Mr Peter Obi from nowhere brought the incumbent.
"We had expected Mr Peter Obi to allow nature throw up his successor in a natural selection through which a natural leader could have emerge, but he did everything in his power to foist his successor on the people of Anambra state and we have all seen the result of not allowing natural process today.
"The former governor actually sacrificed quality on the altar of continuity and in the process enthrone mediocrity, the gentleman Obiano was never one of the aspirants jostling for the office of governor until he was brought in later by his boss.
"With all respect to the incumbent governor, he must have done well in the banking sector where he rose to the top but the truth remains that professional economic success may not translate into instant political success.
Comrade Obi expressed worry that politics of the state has been reduced to sycophancy and praise singing where those who are interested in governing the state try to outdo one another in burial, new yam and other private ceremonies.
He however stated that attending ceremonies whether invited or not by politicians will not take any aspirant to the Awka Government House in the next election as the people are now out to stick with whoever that has the political and economic ideas to truly move the state forward.
