UNIZIK lecturers win Travel Grants Awards, attend International conference in the United Kingdom


Two lecturers from the department of Mass Communication, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Dr Ifeoma Dunu and Mr Chikezie Uzuegbunam have won prestigious awards to attend the international conference of the preeminent media and communication association in the world, the International Association for Media and Communication Research (IAMCR).

The conference which was held penultimate week at the University of Leicester, United Kingdom, brought an assemblage of over 1,300 media scholars and other interdisciplines to engage with the topic, Memory, Communication and Commemoration in Celebration of IAMCR's 50 years anniversary.
The two international academics from UNIZIK were among the 27 scholars from around the world to win the very competitive 2016 Travel Grant Award of the IAMCR.
they both proudly  represented the University well and presented papers to the international community at the conference.
While Dr Ifeoma Dunu presented on the trajectories of participatory  communication and community media in Nigeria, Mr Chikezie Uzuegbunam engaged the audience on the intersection involving Nigerian youths, privacy concerns on the Internet and anonymity effect.
The two Academics are full members of the most association and continues to make remarkable strides in media scholarship in Nigeria and beyond.
