THEODORE ORJI IS OPPRESSING ME- UCHE OGAH

The 2015 Abia state gubernatorial aspirant
for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)
Friday Nwosu has accused the former state
governor of frustrating his judicial chances.
Speaking to journalists in Abuja on Friday,
August 26, Nwosu said it has become
obvious that some powerful sources are
preventing the president of the Court of
Appeal from attending to his appeals at the
appellate court.
Nwosu said: “My worry now is that somebody
or some people are preventing the honourable
president of the Court of Appeal, from seeing
my three applications and reminders asking
her to set up a panel of justices of the Court
of Appeal to hear my appeal expeditiously as
that of Dr. Uche Ogah has been heard.”
Nwosu who was the runner up of the PDP
primary election said his matter was
instituted before an application filed by Uche
Ogah but his has failed to gain attention.
“My matter at Umuahia, even on transfer from
Abuja to Umuahia was No.64,2015 and his
own was 94,2015,about 30 days gap. Yet, his
own has been heard and determined though in
ten days’ time, mine was also heard and
determined but his own appeal has been
concluded and mine is being sat upon,”
Nwosu said.
“I know that Theodore Orji, former governor of
Abia State, has been saying in public places
how he manipulates the judiciary,” he said.

“I know I have complained this to the
authorities previously and I know that he is
still making such threat, that he is sitting on
my appeal in the office of the president of the
Court of Appeal and he doesn’t work there so
I don’t know through whom he’s able to do all
these wonders.
”I am calling the name of Senator Theodore
Orji, that he’s the one who has threatened that
he would sit on my appeal, on my case until
that of Uche Ogah goes to Supreme Court and
finishes so that my own will become an
academic exercise.
“I can call that name. But how he’s able able
to manipulate that in office of the President of
the Court of Appeal is still what I don’t know.
That is why I am saying some powerful forces
are sitting over my case here.
“And I know that this President of the Court of
Appeal, I, as a lawyer, I applied to her to set
up a fresh panel of the Court of Appeal in Port
Harcourt to hear the application I made in a
decided matter and within 30 days of my
application, a fresh panel was set up and even
headed by the present presiding justice of this
appeal, Justice Ogunmiji.

“But for this one, I have written first letter on
July 18, second letter on August 11,
and another letter yesterday that she should
pleas, set up a panel of appeal Justices of the
Court of Appeal to hear my appeal. I am not
saying that come and hear my appeal and
award judgement to me, I am saying come and
hear me fairly, then decide since there’s still
another venue where we can ventilate our
issues, hear me as you have heard Ogah’ s.
“Give me equal opportunity of being heard as
you have given to Dr Uche Ogah and appeal
arising from his case. That is what I’m asking
for today. I appeal to the presentation to carry
this issue round the country that I am being
oppressed,” he said.
Nwosu also said he has evidence that he
has evidence that the former governor has
threatened his appeal.
“I am begging you the press to tell Nigerians,
tell the world that a governor of my state who
is a senator threatened that my appeal must
not be heard, that my appeal would not see
the light of the day, that he’s working with the
judiciary to stop it from being heard and I still
wonder how he does it because Theodore Orji
works in the National Assembly now,” Nwosu
concluded.
