Tension in Enugu as armed robebrs kill man for identifying them

www.odogwublog.com reports that peace was lost at Obiagu/Edinburgh hubbub of Enugu metropolis today in the  afternoon as yet to be identified  armed robbers pumped  bullet shots into a middle aged man, who claimed to know the  identity of one of the robbers, to ensure he died instantly.

The robbers according to a witness were more than ten in number dressed in clothes that resembled police uniforms. They were  hovering around  the Obiagu council area on two pleasure cars, until  the deceased popularly known by his nick name 'Ayaka' while he  observed the unsteady and unspecified movement  of the robbers, questioned  what must be the mission of 'the bad boys' in the environment at that point in time of the day, to the hearing of the robbers.

The eyewitness said two among the robbers walked up to him and shot him on  the legs. As  he failed down, they pumped more bullets into his body, to ensure he died instantly. Thereafter, the robbers started shooting sporadically to scare people around  the environment, formed a road block with which they robbed some commuters and snatched another pleasure car at gun point before they zoomed off.

The operation was said to have lasted for over twenty minutes. The lifeless body of 'Ayaka' was left inside the gutter in a pool of his own blood. After a while, the retailers in the surrounding shops and commercial bus drivers,who scampered to safety resurfaced, and those who knew 'Ayaka' as a popular street man, helped to pull him out of the gutter.

A police detachment from the state anti robbery squad,SARS, arrived the scene of the incident much later. The Enugu state police public relations officer,Mr Ebere Amaraizu, command while he confirmed the incident lately said one of the suspected armed robbers have been arrested.
