President Buhari, Senators to Attend Fr Tagbo’s Burial, Thursday

The Old Boys Association of Christ the King College (CkC) Onitsha, yesterday announced the burial rites of the Late longest serving African Principal of the school, Rev. Fr. Nicholas Tagbo OON, who died July 2, 2016 at St. Charles Borromeo Hospital Onitsha at the aged of 86.
The burial will be attended by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari who is expected to lead other dignitaries to the city of Onitsha, former and serving senators, including senators Andy Ubah, Chris Ngige, Stella Odua, Gov. Obiano and his Commissioners among others.
The President General of CKC Old Boys Worldwide, Chief Joe Billy Ekwunife, in a press briefing at the School premises in Onitsha said that burial service of the great icon commenced, Tuesday in his home town, Awkuzu in Oyi Local Government Area of Anambra State.
“By tomorrow (That is today),  his remains will be brought to the school he molded, CKC where he will lie on state from 10-12 noon and from 12 noon, His Lordship, Most Rev.Valerian Maduka Okeke, Catholic Bishop of Onitsha Archdiocese will led other bishops and priests to celebrate Mass and after that, tributes will follow.
“On Thursday, all activities will shift to the Basilica, Onitsha where the Bishop will say a requiem mass before his final journey to eternity.
“We just got a personal tribute from the President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, who we are also expecting in the burial with his entourage.
“Very Rev. Fr. Nicholas Chukwuemeka Tagbo, OON. Was a member of CKC Class of 1949 who resumed as the first African Principal of  his Alma Mater in 1963 and from 1976 to 1985.
 He molded several generations of Nigeria’s young men in the ‘Bonitas, Disciplina, Scientia’ which is the motto of  our College.
Chief Ekwunife, who flanked with the Chairman Burial planning Committee and former Senator of Anambra Central Senatorial zone, Senator Mike Ajegbo, Dr. Charlce Anyaeji and the Anambra State Commissioner for Information and Communication Strategy, Ogbuefi Tony Nnacheta further described Fr Tagbo as a cleric that is faithful to his duty and loved by all through hard work.
