Obiano’s pillar in Idemmili North, Barr Theodore Okonkwo dumps APGA with 5,000 members ---regrets N69 Million spent on Obiano

www.odogwublog.com reports that Governor Willie Obiano could not believe his ears today. So it was the National Chairman of All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Chief Victor Oye.  This is because there was confusion in Idemmili zone of Anambra Central senatorial zone today when a Chieftain of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA and an aspirant to the Idemili North and South Federal constituency seat, in the 2015 general election, Dr Theodore Okonkwo dumped the party, citing injustice and lack of equity as his reasons.
Okonkwo announced his exit from the party to newsmen shortly after meeting with APGA stakeholders and his over 5,000 supporters. He said his supporters would and stakeholders with him leaving the party would be unveiled in an elaborate ceremony to buttress his claims they left with him.
He said they consist mostly of youths who are on his scholarship scheme, and aged people whose lives he has touched through his philanthropic gesture.
He said: "It is all about what my people want, and I do not and cannot stand alone, I have a base. I have a structure within Idemili North and South. The voices and choices of these people have been muffled and near servitude.
"We need to re-engineer and reposition. It is a democratic choice. In summary, disenchantment is the core reason for my exiting from the party. There is a feeling of disappointment about the Party which I previously respected and admired. There is growing disillusionment with the leadership. It is the disenchantment of a first love gone sour".
On his new party identity, the Idemmili born philanthropist and grassroot politician further stated that he is not in a hurry to rush into any other political party, and as such, he wants to take his time to consult and also seek the consent of his people.
"My present focus is on the welfare of my people. In the coming weeks we shall kickstart activities of Dr Theodore Okonkwo Foundation, a non-political, non-religious organization. We shall touch lives all over. I will dedicate my time and resources to this.
"Furthermore, I will make my next political platform clear at the appropriate time. Meanwhile I am holding consultations within and outside the State. I have to be circumspect on which political platform  I will move to."
He however added that once the choice is made his people will definitely fare better than from where I was coming from.
A copy of Okonkwo's letter to the National chairman of the APGA, Chief Victor Oye to announce his exit, which was made available to some correspondents stated that: "I have finally and irrevocably resolved to leave APGA and pitch my camp elsewhere."
"As the Governorship elections in Anambra State approaches it becomes necessary to reposition my political career and vision. God has been so good to me in all respects.
"This is a painful decision but I have prayerfully weighed the options and convinced that this is the right thing for me to do." Okonkwo said.
Investigations by the Authority Newspaper confirmed the claims of Okonkwo to be the pillar of Governor Willie Obiano in Idemmili during last elections.
www.odogwublog.com asked him what he has contributed to Obiano’s administration or political campaign that made him think he is relevant and he swiftly said: ‘’I was chairman of Willie Obiano Governorship Campaign for seven towns in Idemili North. I delivered Obiano in those towns : Oraukwu, Uke, Abatete, Ideani, Abacha, Eziowelle and Umuoji. I was Director Operations WILLIE OBIANO SUPPORT GROUP (WOSG) a fledgling outfit poised to return Obiano for second term. I am one of the major stakeholders in APGA.

‘’I single handedly sponsored and organized Campaign rallies for Obiano, donated 49 Billboards, 50 motor bikes, 100 bags of fertilizer, 100 bags of rice, 16 generators, 16 water pumping machines, 16 Singer sewing machines and scholarships for 100 people all in the name of Obiano.
I spent N69m to campaign for Obiano. All these are on record and verifiable…….’’.
