In a bid to avoid the economic down turn now ravaging the country with hunger, the Chief Ralph Uwazurike - led Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB, otherwise called, Indigenous People of Biafra, IPB, disclosed yesterday in Onitsha, Anambra state, that Mrs Roseline Egemonye of the Anambra South zone, has been appointed its Minister for Agriculture.
Expressing satisfaction with her new appointment while fielding guestions from newsmen, the new MASSOB Agriculture Minister said, "with this appointment given to me hunger will run away from Biafra land".
"Farming is my profession and and hobby and that is the reason why I am appointed a Minister of Agriculture in Biafra land and the difference between my appointment and that of Nigerian Government is that the Federal Government gives appointment to somebody who is a novice in the Ministry" she hinted.
According to her, "the Anambra South zonal coordinator of MASSOB, Chief Arinze Igbani approved this my appointment and it will spur me to Perform more"
"My fellow women at the August meeting commended me for the appointment including the Personal Assistant to Chief Ralph Uwazurike, Emmanuel Omenka and even my daughter, miss Chioma Egemonye telling me that it is a call to duty, to serve God and humanity.
My appeal is that we should all go into agriculture to avoid hunger that is telling on Nigerians from affecting us Biafrans"
"I will ensure the provision of fertilizers and we will not import fertilizers and any foreign product like the Federal Government that imports even tooh-pick" she stated.
She said, "China, Malaysia and others are not better off than Biafrans so we will not depend on importation because Biafra is endowed with human and material resources. We shall export our agricultural produce to these countries".
We will establish Agricultural banks for loan assistance to farmers unlike the Nigerian Governmet that gives agricultural loans to politicians instead of farmers" she revealed further.
