Unizik ASUU: Comrade Dennis Aribodor, PhD re-elected

 
www.odogwublog.com reports that the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka Chapter on Tuesday 12th of July, elected new executive members to steer the affairs of the Union for the next two years.

Announcing the result of the election, which was held simultaneously at the University’s Campuses in Awka and Nnewi, Prof. Eric Ofoedu, the Convener of the Electoral Committee, declared Comrade (Dr.) Dennis Aribodor of the Department of Parasitology and Entomology as the returned elected Chairperson of the Union a second consecutive term.
The exercise which is the 3rd election after the rebirth of the Union in NAU after 12years in comatose, was conducted under the supervision of ASUU NEC (National Executive Council) representative, Prof. Anthony Monye-Emina from University of Benin. He commended the smooth conduct of the election, promising to report back to the NEC on the success of the election.

In his acceptance speech, the re-elected Chairperson of the Union, Comrade Aribodor thanked members of the Union for finding him worthy of directing their affairs for a second term. He also appreciated them for their supports while reiterating his pledge to leave ASUU in the University better than he met it.

The position of the Welfare Director is to be decided through a bye election as there was no contestant for it in the exercise.

Meanwhile, Dr. Chinedu Uzochukwu of Department of Business Administration joins ASUU and denounces all his activities in the defunct ASUU Progressives, which he claimed was done as a result of long non-existence of ASUU in the University. He promises to give maximum support to the newly elected executive of ASUU and uphold the principles of our great union
