Redeemed Christian Church of God 12 months in 12 days programme kicks off in Anambra

www.odogwublog.com reports that the Bishop in-charge of The Redeemed Christian Church of God, Anambra Province 1, Pastor Tony Curtis Ukagwu has described corruption as a bane of Nigeria society and calls for collaborative violent prayers as panacea to the country’s myriads of challenges.

Speaking to the mammoth crowd that gathered at Redeemed headquarters in Awka, Anambra state, for their annual 12 months in 12 days programme, the man of God also calls on Nigerians to support president Muhammadu Buhari’s fight against corruption, describing him as God sent.

He however, described the theme of the programme, ‘the God of Vengeance’ as significant following the economic hardship currently bewildering the nation, urging Nigerians not to take vengeance, like the dreaded Niger-Delta Avengers as that is the sole responsibility of God.

“We all read how the Israelites dwelled under the torture, affliction, wickedness and oppression of the Egyptians for 430 years. They cried bitterly to God for help and deliverance but when the time comes for Israel to be avenged of enemies, he brought them out of bondage with great wealth and deliverance.

“In Nigeria, the devil wants to take over this nation but God gave us the inspiration to know and understand that time for vengeance has come and he will surely take vengeance against corruption, hardship, long suffering and misery” he prophesied.

“Our problem in this country’ he continued, ‘is that we pray a prayer of tolerance instead of that of violence. This is because whatever you tolerate, you hibernate, whatever you hibernate, you accommodate and what you accommodate, you eventually dominate and suffocate your life.
