www.odogwublog.com reports that the Nnewi Catholic Diocese today ordained nineteen priests in a solemn mass which was held at St John Cross, Catholic Church Uruagu-Nnewi, Anambra state.
Most Rev Hillary Okeke who presided said that one can only become a priest by the special grace of God and not by might or any other considerations.
He urged the ordained priests to see their ordination as a special privilege and as such should live out their calling and serve God and humanity after spending seventeen years during the formative period.
In his speech, the auxiliary bishop of Kanama, Sierra Leone, Most Rev Henry Aruma advised the new priests to be good servant of God and carry out their duties with seriousness and sincerity and not to disappoint the church and the people they are to serve.
The episcopal vicar for the clergy in the diocese, Msgr Gabriel Onuora while welcoming the new priests on board assured them of the elder priests in their work.
