Krosa Model Schools was established in 1991 by Nze (Engr.) Christopher and Chief (Mrs) Rosaline Odumodu shortly after the creation of Anambra State. At that time, there was little motivation and enthusiasm for academic distinction in the environment. By 1993, the first set of graduands of the school excelled in entrance examinations, and since then, the school has sustained the tradition of dancing where eagles dare not thread.
From 1994, Krosa Model School, Amawbia, had recorded 33 Merits/Scholarship awards in national competitions at the state level. Out of these, the school recorded one national 6th position in the Nigerian/Turkish Mathematics Olympiad of 1999, and the National Mathematics Competition of 2010.

Aside Dr Ikechukwu Odumodu , the school has other directors including Mr Chinedu Odumodu, Dr Chizalu Ndukwu, Barr Ebele Odumodu and Mr Kenechukwu Odumodu.
