Police, Army arrest 200 youths in Nanka for beating and stripping DPO

www.odogwublog.com reports that no fewer than 30 youths were yesterday allegedly arrested in Nanka Community, Orumba North Local Government Area of Anambra state, by a team of security operatives numbering over 500 including Nigerian Army and Nigerian police.
They were arrested at Afor Udoh Market in Nanka by unidentified security operatives as the operational base of the team was not known as at press time.
The security team blocked all roads to the market including the Awka- Ekwulobia road, causing serious traffic and panic among residents.
The youths were taken by surprise as none of them could explain why they were arrested at the market.
They were about  five hundred security men, combined with army and police ,armed, and with different types of security vans.
When contacted,  the Chairman of Orumba north local government council ,Chief Okey Enekwe  ,said his office is putting every machinery in place to stop the chaos and assured he is interfacing with security operatives to find out why the mass arrest. He assured peace would be restored.
But the President General of Nanka, Chief Bernard  Obi regretted the action of some youths in his community  who he alleged fomented the trouble that led to the mass arrest but assured t o intervene to restore normalcy.
He insisted that the community will expose any miscreant found wanting by any security agency even as he appealed for calm.
Investigations revealed however that trouble started when one Mr Ifedi Nwankwo resisted arrest after he was reported for defrauding his friend and when a reinforced police team led by a Ajalli DPO CSP Odoemena came , the DPO was beaten and stripped.
The police team left disgracefully but assured to return , the mass arrest of the youths were not unconnected to that assault on police , said an eye witness who did not want to be mentioned.

There is serious problem at Nanka Community,in Orumba North Local Government Area of Anambra state, as police and  army from on non destination took over the popular Afor udoh market in Nanka today. They where about  five hundred security men,combined with army and police ,armed, and with different types of security vans.
No body could explain their mission as they where arresting every youth in the market.They have arrested over two hundred youths as at the time of this report  and hunting for more,all the roads around the market was blocked by team including Awka- Ekwulobia road, which caused heavy hold up on the busy road.We also rant that similar problem occurred about two weeks ago in the same town,when one Mr Nwankwo Ifedi resisted an arrest  from on non police men who alleged that he was reported in their station for fraud. when    the police men could not arrest Mr nwankwo, they went to Ajalli police division for reinforcement which the DPO CSP Odoemena led the team.when they got to the village, not knowing by the police that Mr nwankwo has arranged some miscreants to attack them.An eye  witness said that the boys over powered the police and the DPO and his men was seriously injured .The people around the market were speculating that it was in connection of that the security men now invaded Nanka in numbers.
The President General of Nanka,Chief Bernard  when contacted,regretted the action of some youths in his community just specialised in causing trouble in the
community and said that the community will not shade any miscreant found wanting by any security agency .Mr Bernard Obi advised every body to keep calm,while the security men carry out their lawful duty.  
Finally the Chairman of Orumba north local government council ,Hon Chief Okey Enekwe ,when contacted  ,said that he is just hearing it now.He said that he is making   contacts to know what was the problem at Nanka and advised people to go about their lawful businesses,while the Government look for the solution to the problem.
