Obiano sacks market women mostly widows from Onitsha market

Tension is brewing in Onitsha Anambra state as Government of Governor Willie Obiano has sacked some petty traders from Chukwujekwu Jesus Own Market near Coca cola depot along Onitsha -  Asaba expressway. The market is 30 years old. The women are asked to pay N300,000 for shops even when they deal on perishables.
They were more than 100 protesting the eviction by the Anambra Government today. They were mostly widows, and their cries and uncontrollably rolling on the ground could not stop the government agents.
Some of their placards read “Two women were raped in the market,” “We pay N6, 000 IGR annually to government, Please think twice,” "we are all APGA member and we endorse Obiano for second term" “Governor please withdraw your security men" "two women were raped in the new market" "save us from selfish interest of politicians" and more
Obiano’s rep, and the commissioner for Trade, Commerce, Markets and Wealth Creation, Mrs Amaka Ilobi evicted the traders last Thursday asking them to go to new market at Ogbaru.

Mrs Catherine Okafor,  a 60 years old protester said that the price of a shop at the new market was rather too exorbitant for perishable item sellers to afford.
Okafor said they were forced out with the use of machetes and guns; and their goods worth thousands of naira were destroyed during the eviction.

Former Governor Peter Obi did a fence for them there and warned them on cleanliness………………………………………………………………..
