IPOB calls for referendum on Biafra

The Indigenous People of Biafra(IPOB) has called on the Britain and all lovers of peace in the world to pressurize their respective governments to prevail on Nigeria government to conduct a referendum in Nigeria to pave way for the people Biafra to leave without further bloodshed.


IPOB said Biafrans are tired of living in a country where they are oppressed and killed without any justification adding that it is a crystal clear that the people knows the importance of living without others deciding for them their future.


In a statement signed by IPOB Media and Publicity Officer, Mr. Emma powerful, made available to Authority said “Prince Nnamdi Kanu has applauded the people of United Kingdom UK for the peaceful and successful referendum held on the 24th Jun 2016 for their BREXIT from the European union, EU, and that has proved that the people knows the right things to do at the right time”.



“We also congratulate the 29 member of EU for accepting the wish of the people of Britain for opting out from the union without any single attack on the people and government. Behind this, we the indigenous people of Biafra, IPOB, worldwide are calling on the people of Britain to pressurize their government to ask the Nigeria government to conduct the same referendum in Nigeria to pave way for the people Biafra to leave without further bloodshed.


“The people of Biafra wants to excise their right through plebiscite, to show the world how determined and resolute they are towards the restoration of the nation of Biafra.We want to remind the people of Britain that the merging of different people in Nigeria by the force of colonial masters to create new country caused the intractable problems of instability of indigenous people resulting to ethnic violence and incessant bloodshed” he said.
“The people find themselves incompatible in the lifestyles, customs, traditions, cultures and philosophies. More so, the indigenous people of Biafra were forced into the citizenship of Nigeria by the colonial masters without minding the level of bloodsheds going on against the people of Eastern Nigeria and it is high time the world bodies rise and stop the barbaric acts going on now against the people of Biafra” he said.
IPOB further stated that “the merging of different people by force have been causing more religious violence and ethnic bigotry in Nigeria, but IPOB is following the stipulated ways and laws enacted by the United Nations by using the peaceful means to achieve independence, the law which they promulgated for the indigenous people to become free and the right of pursuit of self determination is being observed peacefully”
