Death of Ojo Maduekwe : Abia govt declares two- day public holiday

www.odogwublog.com reports that the Abia State Government this eveining declared a two- day public holiday, in honour of the late elder statesman and son of the state, Chief Ojo Maduekwe.

Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Eme Okoro, who announced this in a joint press briefing with the Commissioner for Information,  Mr. Bonnie Iwuoha, said the action was in recognition of Maduekwe's role in the political struggles of the country.

The public holiday, according to them is to be observed Friday July 1, and Monday July 4 through out the state.

The SSG enjoined  the people of the state to identify with the family of Maduekwe in mourning the demise of the elder statesman .
