Why I took the trouble to rape a 15-year old SS 1 student at gun point - Carpenter

The Enugu State Police Command is set to arraign a 46-year old carpenter, Mr Casmir Eze, before a court of competent jurisdiction in the state for raping one Marcillus Ogechi, an underage SS1 student of a Girls Secondary School in Udenu Local Government Area of Enugu State at gun point.
Mr Casmir Eze, a professional carpenter, hails from  Umuoji Orba in Udenu Local Government Area of Enugu State. He was said to have scaled the wall where the underage girl slept, broke into her room while he armed himself with a dane gun to force her into the act. The event took place in the twilight of last Sunday, May 22. The police has kept Casmir in cell to await the legal advice of the Enugu State Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) regarding his trial.
During interrogation, The AUTHORITY on Saturday learnt that Mr Casmir Eze told the police that for quite a while, he had admired Miss Ogechi, whenever she passed by his carpentry workshop on her way to and from school. He confessed to the police that he had imaginarily undressed the girl severally and had exciting moments with her, a development he claimed encouraged him to actualize his dream.
According to the statement he made to the police, Casmir said, “I have always admired Ogechi. It is possible she might have noticed it herself. But my challenge was that I didn’t know how to present my case before her.” He however added that the devil offered him an alternative when he went to bed on Saturday night, May 21, 2016 when the dream of how to have carnal knowledge of the girl resurfaced.  “I plotted for hours on how I can sleep with the girl at all cost same night. After considering various options, I opted for an idea: to move over to the girl’s apartment, in another building just a stone-throw from where I am staying and make the attempt,” the statement said.
He further narrated that when he decided to go; he fortified himself with a gun in case of any danger on his way and prepared a scarf to cover his face after gaining entrance so that the girl would not be able to identify him. He said on getting to Miss Ogechi’s apartment, he was faced with a serious challenge, being that the main door to the house was under lock and key but that he used his carpentry skill to surmount the challenge.
Wielding the gun in his hand while he was face to face with his prey, he said the girl was evidently afraid and that he leveraged on her fear to give her various orders including that she must not dare to shout. He said he equally ordered her to switch off her lantern before forcefully having carnal knowledge of her.
He said that after satisfying his sexual urge, he left without knowing that his victim took proper note of his physical appearance. Asked if there was nobody in the house with the girl, he said he was very lucky that day as none of her guardians was around her, being an orphan. He added that he got to know in the police station that the relations of the girl encouraged her to report the incident to the police leading to his arrest.
 Mr Casmir Eze in his statement to the police concluded thus: “I don’t know what came over me. This is the devil at work. I ask that I am forgiven as it will not happen again.” Meantime, members of the Umuorji Oba community are said to be fuming.
The AUTHORITY on Saturday gathered that arrangements had been concluded to banish the suspect from their village if he is released by the police. The Enugu State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Ebere Amaraizu, has also confirmed the incident. He said the suspect had admitted he committed the crime and would soon face trial.
