Ubah unveils 7 points agenda as Anambra FA Chairman

Chairman, Anambra State Football Association, Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah yesterday after being elected unveiled his seven point agenda for the state football Association.

In his acceptance speech shortly after his election and inauguration as Chairman Anambra state football Association, ASFA, Dr Ubah said: ‘’in due course, amongst others, I will unveil a couple of programmes designed to actualize our set goals. These programmes include: Anambra Traders Unity Cup, U-17 Academicals Football Games, Ifeanyi Ubah Unity Cup, Anambra Football Hall of Fame and Awards Night, High Level Training for Football Coaches, and Referees and Football Administrators.

Others are according to him: ‘’Bidding to host 2016 Federations Cup Finals, Launching of Anambra State Football Association House and Giving prominence to female football competitions and programmes’’.

Ubah maintained that there was no victor, no vanquished in the election and called all to join forces to move the state forward.
His words: ‘’Indeed, there is no victor and no vanquished in this election. I enjoin everyone to bring whatever he or she has to the table as we start this new journey towards achieving greatness. It is important that we all key into this new football revolution that is coming to Anambra state and everyone of us will be happy to part of this success story.

‘’By the powers conferred as the State FA Chairman, I and the Board hereby declare that every suspension and sanction imposed on any player, coach, referee and any other person during the controversies arising from the State FA election is hereby lifted with immediate effect. Such persons are hereby reabsorbed and advised to go back to his or her association as a free person. We shall forthwith inform the NFF of this decision.

‘’I wish to also thank the NFF, the electoral body and the Anambra State Government for their roles in the success of this election.
‘’Finally, I assure you that Anambra State Football Association will be great again and emerge as a key stakeholder in the sphere of football at the national and continental level.

On job creation Ubah said: ’’I intend to use the platform as the Chairman of the Anambra State Football Association to provide employment for our teeming unemployed youths in our proposed football academy, increase competition amongst clubs and uplift all football clubs in our state.
‘’It is a new dawn for football development in Anambra State. I urge every stakeholder to eschew rancor and collaborate with this new board as we aim to foster the massive development of football in Anambra State. I will deploy my vast network and goodwill to attract private investment as well as improved government participation in football in the state.

‘’It is also to use this opportunity to make sports, particularly football a tourist attraction to the state. The football industry will not only be an entertainment outfit for our people but will also afford them an opportunity to fraternize, unite and strengthen peaceful co-existence amongst all communities and associations irrespective of their religious, cultural, professional and geographical divide. We will also make football a revenue spinner for Anambra state and Nigeria’’.

In accepting this call to serve, I pledge that the newly reconstituted Anambra State Football Association Board will be transparent and dedicated to their responsibilities. We will work together to turn around the game of football in Anambra State.

While accepting the position, the President FC Ifeanyi Ubah insisted: ‘’It is with deep sense of responsibility and commitment to the development of the game of football in Nigeria and in Anambra state in particular that I hereby accept my election as the Chairman of the Anambra State Football Association.
‘’I express my heartfelt gratitude to all delegates and the entire stakeholders in the Anambra State Football Association for the confidence reposed on me and all other members of the board that have been elected today’’.
