Our Children must use their hands and heads now, says President/Founder Umuaka Igbo Taa

ARTICLE FOR CHILDREN’S DAY CELEBRATION
The need to save our children from the over protective hands of parents has become so succulent and overdue. Many parents have robust and beautiful agenda for their kids but they fail to know the plan of God for these children. Also some children are left to chance and they meet lots of trouble trying to carve out a place.
The problems and challenges children face today are caused by parents who never prayed for their children to have their gifts and talents revealed.
Let us STOP the constant shouting, insults and abuses on our children. Let us get into their world, enjoy what they love to do and from there we can begin to correct them and teach them the right attitude. The problem is that some parents do not have the right content in their teaching and this is because you do not give what you do not have. The behavior children put up most times is ignored or not noticed by the too busy parents.
The church is known as another place to teach a child the right attitude. A situation whereby children become only Sunday worshippers since they cannot go to the distant church without their parents,on any other day,is selfish. Those parents go to distant churches to get posts in the church.
The Holy Childhood Association was founded in France in 1843 by Bishop Charles de Forbin Jansen. Its purpose is to encourage all children to be aware of the needs of children living in mission Diocese through the world.
His Holiness, Pope Francis 1 emphasizes the relevance of Holy Children. He holds them so dearly and practically attends to them with much passion. In his words “Pay attention, my young friends: to go against the current; this is good for the heart, but we need courage to swim against the tide. Jesus gives us this courage! … With him we can do great things; he will give us the joy of being his disciples, his witnesses. Commit yourselves to great ideals, to the most important things. We Christians were not chosen by the Lord for little things; push onwards toward the highest principles. Stake your lives on noble ideals”.

All hands must be on deck to save our children. Let us teach our children the love of God and obedience to the church.
If part of the reason for mass failure in examination is given to distractive impact of ICT on children, then every child is encouraged to start reading good story books. Children should start counting their successes by the number of books they have read.  Let us reward more than punish.
Children should therefore, be taught and allowed to do the right thing at the right time. He should be able to acquire skills with the remaining three months of holidays shared at the end of the three terms. Those who are done with their Junior WAEC Examinationsshould be in for a talent hunt. As a matter of fact, companies, offices and business outfits should begin to make a space for children who have done their Junior WAEC to practice that which they love to do-just like an attachment.They could be given stipends at the end of their three months stay.
Let the curriculum be reversed in order to capture the relevance of our children’s learning.
Children should hear this; “you should help at home as if the family depends on you. By taking up responsibilities as children, you will not be selfish adults.
Children and young people should desist from clubbing, gambling and prostitution. It hurts and would cause them great harm.
Children should ensure that they leave the rest room always clean after use. Any child who is conscious of the way he leaves the restroom would not want to hurt or offend people around him.
Children should live a favorable life style that will guarantee good health”.
“After school, entrepreneurship graduates you into self-employmentin the face of rising high unemployment and you become job creators and not job seekers. The time to start is from childhood”. LET US TEACH OUR KIDS TO USE THEIR HANDS AND HEAD.
Umuaka Igbo Taa expects that august holiday programmes should be more of talent hunt.
