NAF rating shoots four in Lagos

A Nigerian Air Force rating identified as Mohammed Yahaya has allegedly shot four persons in Lagos over N500.
The incident occurred at about 12:00pm on Monday at Westminster Gate, Trinity, Apapa.
Among the victims were Mamman Dansoho (18), Tony Akon (38), one Abdulahi and an unidentified man.
Trouble reportedly started after the suspect, attached to a task force was invited to broker peace among some port rats at the Westminster Gate.
The Nation gathered that one of the boys had sold a phone at N500 to another person few days ago, but the buyer returned the phone because it was not working.
After returning the phone, the buyer was said to have demanded a refund of his N500, but the seller, it was learnt, told him he has used the money.
An argument ensued and the buyer reportedly invited the Air Force personnel who insisted that the seller should refund the N500 to the buyer.
During argument, the personnel reportedly shot the seller on his stomach.
The suspect also fired two more shots while trying to escape and injured the three other victims in the process.
When contacted, the spokesman for the Logistics Command, Nigerian Air Force, Lagos, Squadron Leader Obi Obasi, said the NAF rating was mobbed by touts before he released a bullet to free himself.
He said it was the Air Force man that bought the phone and when he got to his post, he realised it was not working.
